Colonial Soccer Club Social Media Intern
Position Summary:
The Social Media Intern will support the soccer club’s digital marketing efforts by creating, scheduling, and analyzing content for various social media platforms. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports marketing, content creation, and digital engagement while contributing to the growth of the club's online presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
- Develop and curate engaging, high-quality content (photos, videos, graphics) for social media channels, with a focus on Instagram.
- Assist with live coverage during select clinics, games, practices and events.
- Create coach and player-focused content to highlight achievements, training, personalities, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Brainstorm and pitch creative ideas to boost engagement and grow the club's social media following (for example: contests, collaborations, local partnerships)
Social Media Management:
- Schedule and publish content across social platforms, ensuring consistent brand voice and messaging.
- Monitor comments, messages, and mentions to engage with fans and respond to inquiries.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CSC marketing and communications team to align social media efforts with overall club campaigns and initiatives.
- Coordinate with players, coaches, and staff to gather content and ensure approvals when needed.
- Assist in creating and managing social media calendars and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Passion for photography/ videography
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Passion for soccer and familiarity with the sport's culture and terminology.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and trends
- Familiarity in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video editing software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Creative and organized
Work Environment:
- Part-time internship, with flexible hours to accommodate school schedules.
- Must be available for some clinics, games and events, including some evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to travel (with own transportation) to various fields in Colonial School District to take photos/ videos
Compensation:
This internship is unpaid, but CSC is willing to work with you if you are a college student and investigate if this internship could be payable in college credits.
