Coaching Clearances

All Colonial Soccer Club coaches need to be cleared to comply with PA Child Protection Laws as well as complete concussion awareness training. Clearances are valid for 5 years, so if you have them for work, previous coaching, school, or other activities you don't need to request them again.

Concussion training should be completed each year. Links for clearances can be found here at this EPYSA link: https://www.epysa.org/pa-child-protection-laws-clearances/. As volunteer coaches, you will follow the flow diagram and end up in the Background Checks 2 block in the bottom left. Links to each item are just below the diagram.

Concussion training can be found at this link: https://www.train.org/cdctrain/course/1089818 Once you've completed the course, save the certificate as a pdf for upload to Background Manager.

As you get your clearances/training completed, please upload to Background Manager. Click here to access the step-by-step process for this. All training and clearances are free of charge, so if you hit a paywall anywhere you made a wrong turn.

Once clearances are uploaded to Background Manager, the club-designated people will review and confirm everything. This is limited to a small group of folks for privacy reasons, so please be patient. Most of us don't have access to check your individual status so please just wait for confirmation communications.
