Colonial Cares Gear Drive

We're excited to kickoff another season of our Colonial Cares program to gather used soccer equipment and clothing for donations to local organizations who can put in to good use and help bring soccer to those in under-resourced communities. We've previously donated to Starfinder, Levelling the Playing Field, and the Simpson Rec Center in Frankford.

This year, we have a special request passed along through Facebook to the Club. Martin Luther King High School in Germantown could use our help in gathering cleats, shin guards and soccer socks for their girls' soccer program. So we're helping to provide Coach Duane and his team with size 5-9 cleats and other equipment that would be good for high school-aged kids.

If you would like to donate to the MLK program specifically, you can drop off the equipment at 115 Sutcliffe Lane in Conshohocken in a bin in front of the house or contact Nancy Mitchell at [email protected]. She is happy to arrange a meet up or pickup if that's easier. With the season starting for the girls, we'd really like to put a push on this quickly to help make an impact now.

If you have other gear you would like to donate, we will begin having drop offs around the area during the fall season. Starting September 9, we will have totes in the gazebo by the upper GPCC fields and parking lot on Mondays from 7:15-8:30pm, Ridge Park from 5:30-6pm by the fields on Wednesdays, and at AIM Academy in the plaza near the soccer fields from 7:15-8:15pm on Thursdays. We will also accept MLK donations at these drops.

With over 1800 kids playing soccer with Colonial this fall alone and the thousands of past players in the community, we can continue to show how much Colonial Cares and make an impact in peoples' lives through soccer.
