IM Select

Program Overview

Our Select program is for recreational players looking to enhance their gameplay with extra training and games. A Select Team is composed of the top intramural players within a given age group. Select Teams play in one or more tournaments against other Select Intramural Teams from other clubs.  Please note this program is IN ADDITION TO the Colonial SC Intramural Fall League.

The number of teams and number of players on a Select Team is limited, and tryouts will be held for player selection. We need coaches to coach these teams!  If we don't have enough coaches, then we cannot create teams.

Important Dates

  • Sept 11 - Registration Open 
  • Sept 25 - Registration Deadline
  • Oct 7 - Team assignments announced
  • Week of October 11 - Team practices begin



Tryout Details

Two tryouts will take place as part of the process. A player has to attend at least one tryout to be considered and it is highly recommended to attend as many as possible.


There will be pre-registration required for all tryouts at no cost to families.


  • Dates: Fridays, Sept 25 & Oct 2 (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
  • Location: Greater Plymouth Community Center Lower Field (next to playground) 2910 Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting
  • Age Groups/Times:
  • U9 and U10 (3rd & 4th Grade) Check-in: 5:45 pm & Tryout: 6:00 pm - 6:55 pm 
  • U11 and U12 (5th & 6th Grade) Check-in: 6:45 pm & Tryout: 7:00 pm - 7:55 pm
  • U13 and Older (7th-12th Grade) No tryouts required.  Register to indicate interest.



Eligibility

  • Carded (Travel Team) players whether they play Travel for Colonial SC or any other Travel soccer club or team will NOT be allowed to try out or be rostered or chosen for a Select team.
  • Players must be registered with a Colonial SC Intramural Team in order to participate.


Commitment

Please review these requirements before committing to play on a Select team. Players that cannot make the commitment should not tryout.

Players for Select teams will be required to:

  • Attend additional practices as scheduled by the parent volunteer coaches on Fridays or weekends TBA.
  • Practice schedule will not conflict with intramural team practices
  • Commit to one or more tournaments:
  • Whitpain Recreation Association Select Tournament 
  • Saturday, Nov 14 Girls
  • Sunday, Nov 15 Boys
  • Langhorne Neshaminy United Soccer Club Tournament
  • Saturday, Nov 21 Girls
  • Sunday, Nov 22 Boys
  • Participation in tournaments will require travel to Whitpain and Langhorne.
