Become a Counselor

Description:
- Assist the director, lead trainers and senior staff with soccer activities to ensure all parent and child needs and expectations are met
- Assist with the supervision of players to ensure their safety, well-being, enjoyment, learning, and overall development.
- Actively participate in activities and ensure players participate
- Serve as a role model and demonstrate good behavior, sportsmanship, and teamwork
- Bring enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and patience
- Possess the ability to deal effectively with inappropriate behavior and recognize hazard situations
Requirements:
- Follow all rules and regulations as outlined by the director for each event.
- Arrive at the site at the required time, which will typically be at least 30-60 minutes prior to the start of the event.
- Leave your phones in your bag for the duration of the event unless there is an emergency.
- Be prepared to stay for at least 15 -30 minutes at the end of the event to assist with dismissal/cleanup/breakdown.
- Ensure the quality of the event bringing any safety concerns to the director, lead trainer or a senior staff member.
- Wear the required attire: Colonial SC will provide you with some gear and you may also wear your own Colonial SC and/or PWHS soccer gear.*Ensure appropriate behavior of the participants and report any issues to the director, lead trainer or a senior staff member.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility, equipment and the participants.
- Do not allow any children to leave the facility without confirming dismissal with the director whereby the child will be released to his/her parent/guardian.
- Escort all children to the restroom and back to the event.
- Ensure children do not wander off or join another group in the event.
- Counselors who are 18 or older must complete the SafeSport requirements including background checks
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certification is recommended but not required
Compensation:
- Volunteer Hours for Community Service (National Honor Society, Scouts, Religious, etc.)
- Pay $10 per Hour (Counselors only. CIT is a Volunteer position.)
- Combination of Both
